Mowers with tank up top under the hood were gravity with no pump and tanks under seats got fuel pumps. This is the general rule.
First, locate the fuel shut-off solenoid and then locate the fuel supply line that is connected to it. Bypass the fuel shut-off solenoid by connecting these two lines directly together, allowing fuel to flow smoothly into the engine.
